As part of a May 16th update on the project that will rebuild the infrastructure that sends water from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta in Northern California to central and southern portions of the state, the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) reported that the estimated cost of the conveyance tunnel project is $20.1 billion, up from the 2020 estimate of $16 billion.
